Introduction

Grand Bay

Mauritius is generally not a busy place but its most famous tourist spot, Grand Bay with its amount of restaurants, its bars and discotheques is probably the only place giving the impression of nightlife. Depending on the period, it can get busy in peak seasons, especially in December / January.

Grand Bay is far from being a night only place. Packed with the finest shops of Mauritius, and situated in the north where the sea is most attractive, it is the ideal landing place for the tourists wishing to carry a variety of activities.

Therefore Grand Bay remains a good destination as it only takes half a day, on foot or by car to discover a minimum of Mauritius while taking advantage of the shopping opportunities.

Due to favorable sea conditions, Grand Bay offers the best opportunities of Nautical activities.

Pereybere

It is a small beach at the coastal road, between Grand Bay and Cap Malheureux, and widely appreciated by Mauritians. The beach is famous for its remarkable clear water where it is possible to see the deep end of ocean through naked eyes

Mont Choisy

It is a beautiful long beach of white sand at the northern coast full of Filao trees

Pamplemousses Gardens

The famous Pamplemousses Garden, ranking among the finest botanical gardens in the world, was established in 1735 by Mahè de Labourdonnais, with Mon Plaisir Castle once his residence. The 60-acre garden boasts 500 different species of plants, of which 80 are palms. Of particular interest are the giant water-lilies, a spice garden and the Talipot Palms, said to flower every 60 years after they die
